I saw this great Web application referenced at Salvatore Otoro’s Second Life Roleplay blog. So I copied text from my The Big Quiet article, pasted it in the appropriate box on the “I Write Like” site and got this:
I love Cory Doctorow, so I was very pleased with the result. The like to the site is part of the badge that is posted above. You get this block of coding to add to your blog, a link is provided to email to friends, and buttons help you to post Twitter, Facebook, GoogleBuzz, or tumblr. Furthermore, a listing of books by the writer is generated through which you can buy them at Amazon.
It might be fun to see what the rest of the Moonletters staff generates and maybe we can put the results on our ever-growing Writers page.
It says I write like William Gibson “the noir prophet of the cyberpunk subgenre of science fiction.” Pretty cool since I have a thing for cyberpunk, often listing it as an interest on my profiles and bios. Very interesting, Pay!
Hey, apparently I write like Mario Puzo – no idea who that is..lemme check: ‘Mario Gianluigi Puzo (October 15, 1920 – July 2, 1999) was an American author and screenwriter, known for his novels about the Mafia, especially The Godfather (1969)’ (Wikipedia)…oh ok, that’s cool I guess. Wonder what it would say if I put an extract from my latest novel in hmmmmmm
Ok, did the above, said I write like Stephen King – I obviously have issues!!
Great post Pay! xoxo
What does it mean Pam Ayres? Bleedin cheek!
