Did you know that most people with the last name Linden have their own unique Teddy Bear? If you meet a Linden inworld and ask for a bear nicely, they might just give you one. It’s true.
I don’t run into Lindens every day, and the only one who has ever acknowledged my existence that I know of is Torley Linden. He once posted to me, and even sent me an email of thanks after I did an article on him. (I’ve always been a fan of Torley and his helpful tutorials.)
And yet . . . would you believe I don’t own one Linden Bear after all this time in SL? It crossed my mind that I could have been collecting them for fun up til now. So, any Lindens feeling generous who want to send me their bear . . . well, just send one to Shauna Vella. (wink wink)
Not long ago a few of us were discussing the Linden Bears, and my friend Serendipidy Haven got the idea to make her own bear. I mean we may not be Lindens, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have individual bears, right? I liked this idea, and even had this fleeting desire to try making one for myself–but then the lazy kicked in. I already write and make clothes among other things, so figured I’d leave the bear making to Seren who, with the patience of a saint, made some more bears for a few of her friends.
Here’s the bear Seren made for me. Notice it’s holding a moon? I thought that was a nice touch!
The funny thing is, in first life I hate Teddy bears. But the whole idea of the bears being personalized and individual for each Linden is interesting. My Shauna Bear is no transfer, so I’m afraid I can’t send one out to my millions of fans (cough) but I will cherish this and put it on display for years to come. Thank you Seren!

i’m so glad you liked it, Shauna – i can send you a transfer version, if you want one. i’ve a few ideas for more bears in the pipeline… who knows, i may even go into the bear business one day!
Nah, the non-transfer version is fine for me. Was just joking! But I think the Seren Bear personalized for each buyer could be a big hit. Would make a nice gift!
