Free*Style is a blog dedicated to freebie fashion in Second Life. It’s updated regularly, and a nice place to find zero linden clothing if you’re female, though I see guy stuff now and then. The tagline for Free*Style is “….apparently helping to ruin the Second LifeĀ® economy since 2007″ which is clever; I like a sense of humor.
For the record I think sites like Free*Style help the Second Life economy rather than hurt it. Though I cringe when wonderful and creative items are made free, full perm, and distributed by the masses (emphasis on full perm), the free items found here are not the same thing. Free*Style promotes the stores, and you won’t find full perm items which have become trash. Me personally? If I find a shop with a freebie I like, chances are I may become a regular customer.
Though I visit Free*Style regularly I must admit it is not a site I usually “read” (though Ashia Tomsen’s recent comments on the freebie debate were interesting). In general if you’re looking for thought provoking reading material this is probably not the site, but if you want free clothes it’s rather handy. This is not to say there’s not an interesting post now and then, but for me it’s really more of a resource. I tend to scroll down looking at pictures until something takes my fancy.
To sum it up? If you’re looking for free clothing or to discover new stores Free*Style is worth bookmarking. If you own a shop and have a freebie available you can send it to them for review.
