Emergency Zyngo Update

If you own zyngo machines, read this. I received this from the creator of Zyngo.
Take a moment to read this. Your $$$$ is at stake, so I hope you won’t just skim this.
This has been a difficult month for me. I prefer just to produce games that make people happy and make people money. Sadly, he world is full of people who would rather take from others than create. This week I hoped to finish my poker. Instead, all my time was consumed in trying to protect my customers and players.
In the last month:
* A SL exploit was found and removed, but not before quite a number of my games were cloned. This was hard on me, and hard on all existing owners who didn’t need to see another flood of Zyngos hit the market.
* Exploits were made against Z$ games. Fortunately, our new system defenses held and we were able to get the money back to the rightful owners. Still, this sucked my time.
* And, finally, a group of japanese hackers created a custom SL client that was able to overwhelm all the security checks I made in Zyngo. Thanks to several people (who preferred that I didn’t name them), I had some videos and explanations of the exploit and I found a defense that won’t allow the exploit anymore.
For those of you who contacted me the last 2 days and found me quite short, it was because I was trying to figure out the problem and a solution. Add to all this someone who created Zyngo clones from my updaters. That’s why the updater venders were closed. Also, the used game market had viruses and no-mod games. Supporting those has become impossible. Consequently:
* Zyngo games will be no-copy, and no-transfer to someone who isn’t already a Zyngo game owner. This is partly for my protection, and partly for the protection of existing game owners. I realise this hampers the secondhand market some, but I never wanted a secondhand market.
Solutions:
1) Tomorrow I plan to release Zyngo 2.50. I meant to release 3.00 Zyngo in a week or so when the new SL features will be available, but my hand has been forced. YOU MUST GET THIS UPDATE!!!!!
2) Unfortuntely, due to the updater exploit, I can’t do updaters like I have in the past. This time around, I have to do a game swap. This is awful all the way around.
3) If you have Zyngo wyld games with significant purses (L$1000+) either turn off those games until you can update, or make them classic zyngo games.
4) If you see someone playing high-dollar zyngo wyld games and there are numbers that are red on the board for no good reason, file an AR immediately and include a screenshot. For the title, include “Zyngo SL-Client exploit”. The G-team knows.
Thanks to a bunch of [expletive deleted] hackers, I’m sorry to say we’ll have to go through a painful update this weekend.
Finally: DO NOT IM ME ABOUT THIS. There are thousands of you getting this notice. IM’s will clog my ability to help anyone.
