Wow! Where to start with Grendel’s Children? Weird Aquatic life forms, dinosaurs, strange steam driven mecha–to mention nothing of the dragons. The list goes on. If you haven’t seen this place you have been missing one of the highlights of Second Life, and if strange and unique avatars are your thing, well look no further.
Grendel’s Children is vast, so reserve yourself a good hour to see it properly. One of the joys of this store is simply wandering around and seeing all the customers trying on their new avatars. In the past few minutes I have encountered a mini Lust Demoness, a cockroach, a dinosaur . . . . Grendel’s is one of my favourite places in Second Life and I am the proud owner of several avatars from them.
Who could resist the tiny roach avatar at only one linden? Yep, you read correctly, one linden! That’s not unusual here. This is not freebie rubbish either, but quality work. Most avatars come with custom AO often with a hud, sounds included. Other insect avatars available include, Dragonfly, Wasp, Moths, Scarab in tiny versions, a ladybug, various butterflys . . . .
You can pay as much as L$200 for a tiger avatar at Grendel’s, but by Second Life standards that’s very cheap. These avatars are not just good value but well crafted. The natural world is well catered to so if that’s your bent you’ll probably find what you want here
I could carry on forever listing stuff but the sections here include Fae, Dragons, Aquatics (check out the cool Hammerhead shark), Botany (lol) , Dinosaur (with a really cool reanimated bone raptor). Theres even a yellow submarine avatar.
The creators responsible for this work include Flea Busy and Ryan Snook
