At Grendel’s Children I got an egg with a drakelet inside. The egg is large, and worn on your back. When you find the right spot the egg will let you know, and then you remain in that spot until it hatches. I met someone at Grendel’s who collected the different kind of drakelets, and out of kindness they gave me two notecards showing the locations of where drakelets hatch and an encyclopedia about the different kinds.
“Drakelets come in many forms, due to the eggs being so reactive to the area they spend time in, and thus can be said to be diffrent types, and their rarity depends more on how many choose to hatch those types or not, more so then ‘limited number’.”

Aha! Well, the egg hatching took a total of about 45 minutes. The egg “spoke” to me a few times during the process and finally it became a purple and green drakelet hatched by the power of the purplefae. I got a hud with commands to go with the pet who seemed happy on my shoulder.
