Second Life was down for hours yesterday, leaving thousands scratching their heads and trying to make sense of this alternate RL Viewer we were supposed to adapt to.
“The RL Viewer was user unfriendly,” said one member of the Dagger family, who asked to remain anonymous. “It was awkward, and everything was in the wrong spot.” He turned to me, pausing a moment before shaking his head. “It was almost as frustrating as SL Viewer 2.”
A woman nearby saw me taking notes, and decided to pipe in. “Linden Lab did not take us into consideration at all. My stuff was missing, and my appearance was just . . . wrong. While using the RL Viewer I looked heavier, and there were these lines around my eyes. I couldn’t even fly!” she said.
While a couple of people in the crowd said the RL Viewer was an improvement with a much larger 3D view and clear picture, others just used profanity while they spoke of it. “The RL Viewer is bollocks.”
The most common view among the crowd, however, was not really surprising. Many asked “Why can’t the RL Viewer be more like Emerald?”
Another problem yesterday: none of my RL alts were available!
