Moonletters (formerly called slFIX) is dedicated to Second Life the 3D virtual world created by its residents. At present, our focus is on finding interesting items and fun places for you to see within Second Life, but we may open our doors to other virtual worlds in the future. This site has been around since 2007, and we hope to be in your face for quite a while longer.

THE GUILTY

Editor/Publisher: Shauna Skye

Shauna has been the editor of several publications, including Moonletters when it was a sci-fi fantasy magazine. She’s had poetry, editorials, and fiction published, and was the singer/guitar player for indie band, Blue Union. In Second Life Shauna manages the Penny Lane sim, hangs out with mods, and likes to ride scooters. She collects virtual animals, and shops at Japanese clothing stores. She likes Victorian, cyberpunk, steampunk, urban grunge, and has a weakness for Doctor Who. To reach her, please email ShaunaSkye@gmail.com or contact Shauna Vella inworld.

payprofileChief Staff Writer: Paypabak Writer

Paypabak Writer, who most friends call “Pay,” is a recreational avatar: a semi-retired roleplayer, mostly retired exotic dancer, completely retired Latex Bondage Doll, and has a wild Neko side when the mood strikes! A full-time Second Life explorer, she used to write for ROLE Magazine’s travel section until it ceased publication. As if her life wasn’t complicated enough, she continues to handle customer service for MechanizedLIFE operations in Second Life and very happy to. She is a member of SL Bloggers. By all means IM her with your favorite LMs or just say “hi!”

Staff Writer: jellie Arrowmint

jellie Arrowmint is the Assistant Manager and a DJ at AAI; when she’s not busy spinning tunes or dealing with club activities, she can either be found roaming the plains of Second Life, or stitching words together that may one day be published in book form. Never one to stay in one area for too long, jellie currently resides in Harrogate, UK and performs for the local theater company.

albionFreelancer: Albion Spitteler

Albion is a virtual idler, homeless modernist hobo in need of housing for umpteen virtual cars, fashionista, utterly gorgeous and somewhat consumed with ironic undertones. Most definitely not to be taken seriously. Writes his own modernist blog where he waffles incessantly about all things virtual mod, and contributes to the odd blog here and there. Talentless but enthusiastic and liable to dance at the first tinkle of Motown. Does he have a style beyond unreformed deconstricted stream of consciousness, plagiarism, Jack Kerouac before he was invented, well if he was fifty years older . . . and cant spell for sugar! So there you get a flavour of what it’s all about: nonsensical modernism. Real life, hmm it’s there. Built submarines, went to uni, lived in metropolis moved oop north to las vegas in lancashire . . . well almost.

Freelancer: Graz Firecaster

Graz has been the Manager and DJ at AAi (An Alternative Indie Club) since July 2009 and it was his love of music that brought him to Second Life initially. Graz’s views and musings on SL are balanced, warm and never without humour. He is most likely to be found in world, surrounded by friends and either wearing one of his beloved self made R&R t-shirts or scanning people as a dalek. He loves his 1950s prefab, his huge refrigerator, Katy Perry and daft jokes.

Freelancer: Lacrimae Starsmith

Lacrimae – known to practically everybody as ‘Mae’ – is a Second Life hobo, living out of a motel room and various shopping bags, and sharing her life with her cat, her friends and practically anyone passing who’ll stop and listen. Never entirely comfortable that SL isn’t a plot to take over the collective consciousness of the world, Mae spends her time trying to make some sort of sense of the world around her and her own place in it – occasionally with a modicum of success. Usually guarded and quiet, it’s not unknown for her to gently simmer on the back burner for a while before boiling over in a torrent of scalding verbal outpouring about matters that concern her – but it’s never anything that a decent hug can’t put right.

Reporter: Madame1111 Quintessa

Madame does freelance writing for Moonletters, and often helps out by showing the editor cool things inworld.

Moonletters is not affiliated with Second Life or Linden Lab.
